Give One for the Books is a collaborative new book donation effort between myself and the schools and clubs I visit.  (click here for more details.)

When I started this program, I had no idea how successful it would be.  Since October, Give One for the Books has collected and donated over 300 books!

My Lost in London tour was loads of fun, but it’s especially great knowing that while whizzing around from school to school, I was also helping local communities. Below are a few picts and stats to show you where some of those books went.

Boys and Girls Club of Wilmington, DE

The H. Fletcher Brown Boys and Girls Club of Wilmington, Delaware received a whopping 80 books, collected by the Saint Mary Magdalen School.

A.I. duPont Hospital For Children

The A.I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware received quite a few books over the course of my tour. 25 came from the Ursuline Academy in Wilmington, eight from the Agnes Irwin School in Bryn Mawr, PA, two from guests of my event at the Hockessin Book Shelf in Hockessin, DE, and 40 from yours truly. I visited the hospital on December 16th for a reading and to deliver some of those books in time for the holidays.

Ronald McDonald House

St. Ann’s school of Wilmington, DE collected 15 books for their local Ronald McDonald House.

Last, but not least, I visited with the awesome women of Girls, Inc. Delaware and donated 40 books!

I think this counts as definitive proof that my fans are the best fans in the world! Thanks, everyone, for helping to give the gift of reading to kids who don’t have access to books.

Very soon, I’ll be booking events for my 2014-2015 Lucky Me tour, so if you’d like to host me and perhaps rally your community for a book donation, please contact me!
